DWP Workplace Pensions Roadmap
The DWP has updated its Workplace Pensions Roadmap.
I love this. A roadmap is for life, not just for Christmas, like a puppy. You need to update it regularly. So kudos to the DWP for nurturing its puppy.
It’s added a little more meat to the bones, now that the Pensions Schemes Act 2026 is law, and shifted its focus from vision to delivery. This includes:
Phasing the implementation of Value for Money.
Detailing the steps for delivering Guided Retirement and co-ordinating it with R-CDC.
Clarifying timelines for Contractal Overrides.
and much, much more.
We need to make sure our pensions technology is fit for the future, and the DWP roadmap is a huge help. At the risk of being churlish, I did find its timeline visualisation hugely confusing. It reminds me of those children’s path puzzles where you followed a tangled mass of lines to match a child to its toy. So I have reformatted it into a more traditional, boring Gantt chart. Here it is. Click on the image to get the full-sized file. I hope it helps you if you were similarly confused.
Here’s the Excel file, if you want to add your own stuff.
